Giulia Ronchetti
Giulia Ronchetti
She was born in 1988 in Crema (Cr). Her artistic career starts at the Artistic High School Bruno Munari of Crema and continues at the L.A.B.A. of Brescia, where she graduated in Graphic Design & Multimedia. On one hand her works look back to the past: from her love for old herbaria of the late 19th century, to the decorative style typical of Egyptian art, from the Art Nouveau style to traditional painting techniques. On the other hand, they rely on a contemporary imagery learned during her studies in graphic design and multimedia. Visions of worlds where nature and instinct are meticulously illustrated using nib inks, chine, cotton threads, pantone and paint on various supports: paper, cotton canvas, fabric and wooden boards. She draws inspiration from ancient and modern fairy tales, mythologies, symbols, archetypes, but above all from the animal and vegetable worlds, which carry ancient and contemporary meanings at the same time. Everything is a symbol, and every thing tells its own story. The leitmotiv revolving around Giulia Ronchetti’s work is the cycle of life in its continuity, through which time undergoes infinite variations, without ever breaking.
